Welcome to the web site about
preserving and documenting
the OTC (Old Town Cemetery) in Hillsborough,  North Carolina
from 1757

August 3, 2016:   One hundred sixty-year-old tombstone recently rediscovered in Old Town Cemetery:    http://www.newsoforange.com/news/article_3ce9ff08-59b8-11e6-a772-fb766578bfd3.html

From Ken Ostrand’s email regarding the August 8, 2015 gathering  and future work to be done at the OTC,   “this is the fourth community effort to give new life to the OTC. We pulled vines and weeds once, cleaned tombstones twice, and now this effort to give ‘immortality’ for the OTC and its inhabitants. We’ll probably do another group effort at recording inscriptions, but we might wait until the late Fall, and of course we’ll have at least one more effort at cleaning. And then there are the endless struggles against dirt, weeds and vines! But thanks to your efforts, we and the OTC will all live to fight again!”

Ken Ostrand on right has been leading this effort to restore and document this cemetery.
